Position: Business Partner and Chief Information Architect

Company Info: Chameleon Software is an internet application service provider (I/ASP)
servicing companies in the fast-moving consumer goods industry.

* Oversaw the design and construction of the company’s information infrastructure --
the small-office LAN and also internet servers providing Bind/DNS, web and ftp
services, email, dial-up, etc.

* Performed basic network administration (sysad) tasks saving the company from
potential losses due to intrusions, downtimes, etc.

* Developed the company’s core products: the Offtake Monitoring System, the D'link
Salesforce Management (web-based reports), and the Inventory Pipeline System --
securing for the company two major contracts in the first 9 months of operation.

* Recommended key technologies which shortened time-to-market and which fit the needs
of a company of our size

2000-2001

Dagupan Electric Corporation

* Company Info: Dagupan Electric is a privately-owned electric distribution utility
serving 70,000 customers in the northern region of the Philippines.

Position: IS Manager

* Developed various software applications -- tracking inventory, restoration of electric
service, etc.

* Organized and trained a team of documentors which produced at least a hundred pages of
flowcharts covering 70 % of the company’s business processes.

* Enabled the company to cope with IT staff turnovers by describing poorly documented code
and databases in a 300-page data dictionary.

* Identified and rationalized career paths for senior IT staff, thus, protecting the company
from the adverse effects of the Peter Principle.

* Trained non-IT staff in using the Internet and Open Source Software boosting productivity
while reducing total cost of ownership (TCO).

1998-2000

Conqueror International
Sto Nino, Marikina City

* Company Info: Conqueror International is the maker of the locally well-known Rusty Lopez
brand of shoe and leather-based fashion products. It has 150 outlets in the Philippines
and it employs up to 600 employees during peak sales periods.

Position: IS Manager

* Wrote an HR information system, and other applications to handle credit sales, product
movements, etc.

* Wrote PL/SQL scripts to migrate data from XBase files to an Oracle 8i database.

* Drafted the functional and technical design (including the screens, reports, database
tables, process structure) of the Warehouse, Inventory, and Purchasing System (WIPS)
which was later implemented by a third-party (IT services company) using Oracle 8i and
Developer 6i.

* Used IT to enable the preparation of Sales Reports and Forecasts in a more timely manner,
e.g. every quarter/on-demand instead of every year.

* Professionalized the IS Department by defining career tracks for staff, providing them
formal training and mentoring, and crafting IT policies.

* Eliminated double-encoding at the head office of sales data captured by Point-of-Sales
(POS) terminals in retail outlets and saved the company money (at least CA $ 800/month
in salaries), not to mention time.

* Planned and delivered training to end users of common office software.

* Company Info: Options Software is my own venture as well as my first foray into the
world of IT consulting. Partnering with other IT professionals on a project basis,
I provide mainly programming services to small and medium-sized companies.

* Developed customized software for various clients. Examples are a Loan Monitoring System
for a couple of micro-credit firms, a Sales and Payment Tracking System for an auto repair
shop, a Production Monitoring and Inventory Tracking System for a couple of shoe manufac-
turers, and a Job Order/Purchase Order Monitoring System for a real estate firm.
